Chapter 47 Trefoil Knots, Agemaki
On the first anniversary of The Eighth Princefs death, Kaoru confesses his love to Oigimi, but Oigimi, who is determined to remain single throughout her life, recommends him to marry her younger sister, Nakanokimi, instead. Kaoru, who cannot attain his desire, works out a scheme and arranges for Prince Niou to get Nakanokimi, thinking that he can win Oigimifs heart if Prince Niou and Nakanokimi are married. However, the visits from Prince Niou become less frequent and Oigimi feels responsible for it; her regrets make her seriously ill. Although Oigimi finally opens her mind to Kaoru as he continues to visit and attend her devotedly, it is too late and she dies in his arms.
