| Kaoru sees Yokawa no Sozu to confirm that Ukifune is alive, and sends Ukifune's brother Kogimi to the nunnery of Ono with a letter from Yokawa no Sozu and a letter in which Kaoru expresses his love for her. Ukifune is flustered, but does not dare to see Kogimi, making him believe that he is speaking to the wrong person. Hearing about this from Kogimi as he returns, Kaoru regrets sending the letter and feels discouraged, but at the same time gets the suspicion that someone else is hiding her there, just like he did himself before. |
